After 8 years on the folk scene Geoff took the plunge in September 1986 and decided to turn full time.
Geoff plays 6 & 12 string guitars and bodhran as well as singing unaccompanied, and performs a wide variety of material.
He sings traditional songs (his powerful voice being ideal for the chorus songs he loves) and also contemporary song on a wide range of subjects
and from a variety of different sources. He has recently started to include more of his own material in his repertoire - two of his most recent
recordings being almost exclusively written by Geoff and covering the stories of the Busby Babes and the Peterloo massacre in song, poetry and
prose. His whole act is spiced with a delightful sense of humour and some of his anecdotes have left the audience helpless with laughter.
Geoff is still based in his native North West of England where he has been well known for a number of years. During recent years he has toured
extensively with folk club bookings all over England, Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands. He has been booked at many folk festivals including
Sidmouth, Broadstairs, Fylde, Chippenham, Warwick, Redditch, Redcar and many others.
Geoff has made many appearances on BBC local radio and has contributed to several recordings. He has also been seen on television as an actor in
soap operas such as Coronation Street and Brookside.
More recently Geoff inherited a music agency and now organises folk music for venues and artists.
